A first date ensued followed by Arlyn introducing Jake to her close friends which included Shey, and Lovely and Marc Arnesto. The new group of friends formed a tight bond and Arlyn and Jake continued to learn about each other during their frequent outings with their friends and their dates alone together.

In Jake’s words, he describes their relationship as unique saying “it was different this time”. Unlike previous experiences being infatuated only to be disappointed, he says their relationship is like a seed that they have watered and provided sunlight for together everyday, which has now grown into a big tree, deeply rooted and strong, to face the harsh seasons of life while enjoying the shade and fruits along their journey, growing in life together.

On January 14th, 2023 Jake and Arlyn attended the Chinese New Year celebration in Chinatown in Honolulu. During the festivities, Jake and Arlyn had Calligraphy written for them wishing for prosperity and a healthy baby boy. They continued to pray for this blessing. That summer of the same year, in the month of June, Arlyn and Jake learned they were pregnant.

On August 4th, 2023 during a trip to the Philippines, Jake and Arlyn took their parents: Nanay Erlinda, Mom Corazon, and Dad Jerome Sr., and other family members out for lunch at the Las Casas Filipinas De Acuzar branch in Quezon City. While the families were busy having lunch, Jake asked Arlyn to go for a walk during which he surprised her by proposing to her in front of the St. Joseph Chapel there at Las Casas QC. Arlyn teases that Jake stole the move from Dominic Roque after he proposed to Bea Alonso, but Jake claims Dominic copied the idea from him.

On September 30th, 2023 Jake and Arlyn had a private beach wedding ceremony. The only persons in attendance were Jake’s friends and business partners; Treston Malone, an ordained minister who officiated the wedding, Carson Cheng, who photographed the wedding, and Justen Patague who filmed the wedding.

On February 11th, 2024 Jake and Arlyn’s wish and prayer came true when Jerome Miguel Catu Adarna III, a healthy and happy baby boy, was born in the year of the Dragon.

On December 20th, 2024 All of you will forever be in our hearts and memories as we are so blessed to have you join us for our special day. This time, with all the most important people closest to our hearts and in the presence of God.
